1. About these terms
These terms apply when you use this website and when you engage QuantX Estimation (“we”, “us”) for construction estimating, quantity takeoff, material takeoff, bid validation, change order pricing or any related service.
Every engagement also has a written quote setting out the fee, the delivery date and the scope. If the quote and these terms conflict, the quote applies to that engagement.
2. What our services are
Our estimates and takeoffs are decision-support documents prepared from the drawings, specifications and information you give us. They are not engineering or design services, and they are not a guarantee of final construction cost.
Accuracy figures on this website describe typical outcomes on clear drawing sets and a clear scope. They are working targets, not a warranty. We do not control weather, owner changes, site conditions, material price movement or design errors that are not visible in the documents we receive.
3. Quotes and scope
- We quote a fixed fee from your drawing set, with a delivery date and a written list of what is included and excluded.
- Work starts only after you accept the quote and pay the deposit.
- If you add scope after acceptance, we quote the addition before starting it.
- Where the documents are incomplete, we price what exists and write down what we assumed. The estimate is valid for the documents it lists.
4. Fees and payment
- Standard terms are 50% on acceptance of the quote and 50% before the final files are released.
- For a first engagement with a new client, the deposit is 35%, with the balance due before the final files are released.
- Larger or phased programmes may use milestone payments tied to deliverables, as set out in the quote.
- We invoice in USD or GBP. Any taxes that apply are shown on the invoice.
- We do not bill by the hour.
5. Revisions and refunds
Revisions inside the agreed scope are included in the fee: addenda, design changes, value engineering alternates, reissues and questions up to bid day. If we make a mistake, we correct it at no charge and reissue the files.
If you are still not satisfied after revisions, our Refund Policy explains how to request a refund.
6. Your responsibilities
- Send the drawings, specifications and addenda that apply, and tell us what is missing.
- Tell us the trades or divisions to price, the project location and your bid date.
- Review the estimate, the assumptions and the exclusions before you rely on them.
- Responsibility for the bid you submit and any contract you sign remains with you.
7. Delivery dates
We give a firm delivery date with each quote. It depends on receiving the information the quote relies on. If we cannot meet a date you need, we tell you before you accept.
8. Who owns the files
Once the engagement is paid in full, the deliverables are yours: the workbook, the marked-up drawings and, on request, the Planswift source file. We do not hold source files back as leverage for future work. We keep our own working methods, templates and know-how.
9. Confidentiality
- We keep your drawings, quantities and pricing confidential and use them only for your engagement.
- We will sign your NDA before opening your drawings if you send one.
- We do not publish client names, project details or drawings without written permission. Project examples on this site are anonymised.
- If we are already engaged on a project, we decline a competing bidder’s enquiry for the same package.
10. Sample estimates
Sample estimates are free, sanitised examples of completed work, limited to one per company. They show our format and method. They are not an estimate of your project and must not be relied on as one.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any engagement is limited to the fees you paid for that engagement. We are not liable for lost profits, lost bids, or indirect or consequential losses.
Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.
12. Using this website
The articles, reference tables and calculators on this website are general information. They are not advice for your project, and you should check any figure against your own drawings, suppliers and market.
Some pages link to third-party websites, including AI assistants and social networks. We are not responsible for their content or how they handle your information.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, unless a written agreement for your engagement states otherwise.
14. Changes and contact
We may update these terms. The version that applies to an engagement is the one in place when you accepted its quote. Questions: quantx.estimation@gmail.com or (929) 654-0076. See also our Privacy Policy.
