Sitework, paving & flatwork estimating services
Asphalt by tonnage, flatwork by area, base course by depth, with curbing, striping, fencing and landscaping counted individually.
What a sitework & paving package looks like.
Paving is priced on tonnage, not area, so asphalt is measured by area and depth and converted using the mix density from the specification. Base and sub-base course carry their own depths and compaction, and subgrade preparation is measured separately because it is frequently the item that moves.
Concrete flatwork is measured by area with thickness, reinforcement, jointing and finish stated per element. Sidewalks, aprons, pads and curb are separate items because they carry different forming and finishing labour.

Common questions on sitework & paving takeoffs.
Yes, using depth and the mix density from the specification, with the density assumption written down. Asphalt is bought and placed by the tonne, so an area-only figure cannot be ordered against.
Yes. Heavy-duty and light-duty sections carry different base depths and asphalt thicknesses, and they are measured as separate areas rather than averaged across the site.
Packages that usually travel with this one.
Most enquiries cover more than one division. Bundling them into a single engagement keeps the assumptions consistent across the whole bid.
